Lovely little double sided glass locket dating to the Edwardian era. This locket is on the smaller side with an ivy boarder at the top. Ivy, a classic theme during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, is a symbol of attachment, "I cling to thee". This piece opens by screw on the top and the gold frame flexs to release the two glass pieces. The glass is shaped in a particular way, with bevelled edges, to allow the frame to hold them securely in place. The interior edges of the glass are slightly rough and have a couple of chips. Once the glass is in place, these chips are on the inside. Circa 1900s, British in origin.
