A very classic old European cut diamond solitaire engagement ring. The simplicity of this ring has won us over! A half carat diamond is set in six delicate white claws. The diamond is an old cut, late enough that the pattern and faceting is even but early enough to have those wonderful chunky facets, cushy high crown and open culet. The claws taper to meet a yellow D shape profile shank. The entire setting is traditional and one we see still today with the diamond taking centre stage. This ring has been engraved with a personal inscription which allows us to date it perfectly. It's just turned 100 years old. Circa 1910s, North American in origin.
The inside is engraved with a personal inscription, "W.A.H. to O.C.A. 4-25-1917."
Diamond: old European cut, measures approx 5 mm and calculated in setting as 0.50 carats, K colour, SI2 clarity.
Stamped H&C 14K. Professionally tested and assessed as 14 carat gold. We aren't sure who the maker H&C is.
Size: UK - I; US - 4 3/8; EU - 15.2. Resizing is possible, though would mean the partial loss of the personal inscription. We estimate that the C.A and possibly the month would be affected. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures approx 5.7 mm wide and rises 6.4 mm tall. Band tapers to 1.3 mm at back centre.
Weighs 1.35 grams.
