Art Deco platinum diamond engagement ring.  A centre old mine cut diamond is set in a French style Art Deco platinum setting.  This is a lovely solitaire, single stone diamond engagement ring.  The old cut diamond is held in a buttercup style setting and has a small small table, high crown, and large open culet.  The shoulders of the setting are crafted in faceted, geometric style setting and lined with miligrain beading.

From the side the setting is just as well crafted and stunning.  A scroll, filigree design can be seen, right on top of the finger and set below the diamond and shoulers.  The elegant arch of the shoulders which lead to the unadorned platinum band is pleasing to the eye and flows beautifully.  This ring doesn't contain French hallmarks but is very French, Art Deco in style.  Circa 1920s - 1930s, European in origin.

Diamond: old mine cut, calculated in setting as 0.40 carats, 4.3 -4.5 mm, K colour, VS2 clarity.

Hallmarked PLAT for platinum and tested as such.
