Art Deco Clear Paste Chain, 1920s Vintage Open Back Setting Long Chain. 52 inches.Add to Wishlist
Art Deco era clear paste chain. Round clear paste are bezel set into open backed settings. The 31 paste are spaced around the chain and connected with a medium weight silver toned trace chain. This chain is long enough to be worn doubled in long layers. Circa 1920s. A spring bolt clasp can be fitted if required.
There are 3 sections where the pastes are spaced further apart. The paste match in colour and size. I think this piece was either originally longer and 3 paste were removed for another project, or that this piece was originally was a fixed double strand necklace and was put together to make it a longer single chain. The uneven spacing is not noticeable when it's being worn.
Paste are approx 5.6 mm wide. They show typical wear and abrasions and are in generally good condition for their age.
Not stamped, this piece is white metal.
Measures approx 6.6 mm wide at stones, 1.9 mm wide at chain and 133 cm / 52 inches long. It does not have a clasp and slips over the head.
Weighs 15.6 grams.
