Antique Yellow Gold & Platinum Wedding Ring. Platinum Lined 18 Carat Yellow Gold Band, Early 20th Century.
Add to WishlistThis is a very simple wedding ring dating to the early 20th century. It was made to look as though it's yellow gold, which would have been the popular choice for wedding bands at the time. The inside part which touches the finger is platinum while the outside is yellow gold. It's thought that it would have possibly been made this way for people with allergies to gold. It's a brilliant little ring that would allow the wearer to have their metal of choice for fashion, but was also kind to their metal allergy. 1900s, likely British in origin.
This is a very narrow wedding ring with a slightly rounded profile. The sides are flat as is the inside. A small seam can be seen inside only and is probably the original solder line from when this ring was crafted.
Hallmarked Platinum. No hallmarks for gold present, tested as 18 carat yellow gold.
Size: UK - L; US - 5 3/4; EU - 16 1/4. Sizing down is available for an additional fee. Sizing up is not recommended because of the way the two different metals are joined together.
