Beautiful antique 9 carat gold knot ring. Always a favourite design! And this one is in incredible condition. Four wires of gold are melded together and split into sections of two wires which intertwine to create a large reef knot on the top of the finger. It's a classic and cool design, bold on the finger. Circa late 19th century, British in origin with complete hallmarks dating it to 1895 making this ring over 130 years old. In excellent condition! Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in London, date letter U, 1895. The gold is between modern yellow and rose gold, closer to rose gold though not nearly as pink as modern rose gold. Size: UK - M; US - 6.25; EU - 16,7. Sizing taken from the trailing edge because it's a wide ring, this helps account for a wider ring typically fits when worn. We'd recommend against resizing this ring, I don't think it's ever been resized and the ridges on the underneath side of the finger would be difficult to make look this pristine again though resizing is possible. Measures approx 10.85 mm wide on finger by 3.45 mm tall rise from finger, back centre is 4.85 mm wide. Weighs 3.7 grams.
