Antique late Victorian sterling silver book chain. Three rows of fancy links are connected together in a staggered pattern. The top and bottom rows are a trefoil design with a scalloped edge and the contrasting centre links are pointed on the front side and flat on the back side. Each of the links is oval in shape with negative space between them when viewed from the side. This chain is a shorter length and features an oversized bolt clasp, perfect for holding a locket or another large pendant. Should you wish for just a chain, the clasp can be turned to the back. This is a beautiful and versatile piece dating to the late 1800s, British in origin.

Not marked, tested as sterling silver.

Measures 46 cm / 18.1 inches long and is approx 13.8 mm wide.
