Antique sterling silver oval link chain. This lovely necklace is crafted from a series of long oval, trombone shaped links alternating with three smaller round links. The links are heavy and sturdy, made from 1.5 mm rounded wire and joined together. At one end of this necklace is a large swivelling dog clips which fits nicely into the terminating round link or can be fastened into any of the oval links. Circa early 20th century.

This chain came to us as a watch chain and we've rearranged the links and added one, creating a piece with at a more wearable and versatile length. The original t-bar and engraved fob are present on each end of this chain.

Not hallmarked on chain, which has been professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver. Fob is fully hallmarked for sterling silver and assayed in 1904.

Measures 42 cm / 16.5 inches long by 7 mm wide.

Weighs a hefty 46.3 grams.
