Victorian trombone link sterling silver chain. This chonky piece is so wonderful! It's heavy and has wonderful long, open links made of 2 mm silver wire. The elongated trombone shaped links alternate with a series of three rounded links creating a a very classic and easy to wear style.

This chain would have originally been worn by a gentleman as a watch chain, a style known as an Albert chain. Today they are commonly worn by women or men as neck chains. The single dog clip can be worn to the front to display an oversized pendant or locket, or worn to the back. Along the chain is a t-bar with matching hallmarks. Circa early 20th century, British in origin.

In very good condition. The dog clip is nice and springy.

Hallmarked for sterling silver on the t-bar and links. The t-bar and dog clip both have a maker's mark of J.S* and a date letter for 1900.

Measures 43 cm / 17 inches end to end, oblong links are approx 7.9 mm wide by 30.4 mm long.

Weighs 48 grams. This is a nice heavy, chunky neck chain.
