Antique sterling silver Albertina chain. This fancy link chain would have originally been used as a watch chain and would make an amazing bracelet for the modern woman!

Five chains create a row, twist, spiga, ridged rolo, spiga and twist. These five chains are joined on the ends with a large circle engraved with a palm or fern. In the centre is a large, scalloped edge oval shape piece which has thistle embellishments in relief - so cool! At one end is a hook and the other an eye so that this piece can simply fasten to the wrist. The coolest thing (yes, it gets even better) is that each of the three sections have a different design on the other side! The end circles are engraved with ivy leaves and the centre with ivy leaves accented with a little feathered design. All the engraving have been done by hand.

Four of the five chains move through the centre piece with the fifth soldered so that the centre stays in the centre. Circa late 19th century, circa 1880s, British in origin.

Not stamped, professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver throughout.

Measures 21.5 cm / 8.5 inches end to end, approx 20.5 cm / 8 inches in wearable length.

Weighs 22.7 grams.
