Antique opal and old cut diamond ring.  This stunning ring features an oval cut cabochon opal framed by a halo of 10 old European cut diamonds.  The opal has good play of colour and shows mostly blue and orange in domestic lighting and blue and green in daylight.  The diamonds are bead set with small shared prongs between them with a bezel or rub over to the outer edge of the ring.  Each diamond is an older cut stone with steep crown, small table, and medium to large open culet.  Circa 1900 - 1915, British in origin.

Opal: approx 5.7 mm by 4.1 mm and shows mostly blue and orange play of colour.

Diamonds: 10, old cut, approx 0.50 carats total weight, I / J / K colour, VS1 to SI1 clarity.

Hallmarked 18ct & Plat.  This ring is 18 carat yellow gold with the gemstones set into a platinum top.
