Antique opal and diamond pendant dating to the early 20th century. A gorgeous oval shaped opal is bezel set within a halo of diamonds. The diamonds form an elegant floral shape with the opal at its centre. The opal has great blue and green colours, a nice contrast to the white mounting. This pendant is articulated with a bezel set diamond at the base of the pendant loop. Circa 1910s - 1930.
In very good condition.
Opal: oval shape, cabochon cut, approx 8.2 mm by 6.2 mm. The opal has good play of colour.
Diamonds: 6, single cut, 1.7 mm to 1.8 mm in diameter, approx 0.14 carats total, near colourless and eye-clean as assessed within the limits of the mounting.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold, which is white in colour.
Measures approx 22.5 mm / 0.90 inches long not including bail by 11.3 mm / 0.45 inches wide.
Weighs 1.4 grams.
