Sweet antique heart pendant crafted in 9 carat rose gold. This heart charm is inset with a tiny opal within an engraved starburst design at the top. At the opposite side the engraved words January follow the curve of the heart. We find this piece a bit curious. The birthstone for January is a garnet and an opal is for October. I wish we knew the history! This sweet little piece has a small bail on top and is ready to be added to a chain or charm bracelet. Circa 1910s, British in origin.

Fully hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham, 1911.
