Victorian initial locket. This antique locket, dating to the late Victorian era, is gold fronted and backed and set with split pearls. The 13 pearls are designed as a capital letter M. This puffed heart is hinged and opens to hold a photograph. A frame with plastic covering is present to protect and secure your keepsake.
We're fond of initial pieces. They are sweet and sentimental and can be worn as the giver's initial, the receiver's initial or a to stand for a title, such as Mother. This piece is in good condition with minor wear to the gold outer layer and pearls. Circa late 19th century, British in origin.
Stamped REAL GOLD on the back. Professionally tested and assessed as 15 carat gold front and back over a metal base. An older scratch test mark can be seen on the inside of the locket.
Measures approx 2.05 cm / 0.81 inches long not including bail, by 1.78 cm / 0.70 inches wide.
Locket with frame and plastic protector weigh 3.45 grams.
