Georgian thistle seal crafted in gilt metal. Thistles are always a popular design, it's a beautiful flower...and a bit prickly. The white chalcedony base is an elongated cushion shape and carved with a single thistle flower. The elegant top is carved in a classic bold floral design with ridged shell style patterns peaking out. This fob dates to the early to mid 19th century, Georgian era.

In very good condition, the gilt shows some wear under magnification.

Measures approx 22.5 mm / 0.90 inch tall and 14.8 mm / 0.58 inches by 12.2 mm / 0.50 inches on the bottom.

Weighs 4.4 grams.
