Stunning antique diamond engagement ring.  Seven diamonds are bead set into a floral shaped cluster.  Each diamond is set into a petal shape which is lined in milgrain beading.  The undercarriage of this ring is pierced out in a flower shape which mirrors the daisy style top.  The band curves up slightly in a leaf shaped design near the flower top.  A ridged design decorates the band a bit futher down, between the fingers, leading to a plain yellow gold band in the back.  This ring dates to the mid to late 1800s and likely British in origin.

This ring is 18 carat yellow gold with the diamonds set into a silver top.  The alloy for white gold was first invented in the early 20th century.  Using white metals to set diamonds has always been popular and prior to the invention of white gold silver and platinum were used.

Diamonds: 7 old mine cut and 6 old single / eight cut diamonds. Total approx 0.26 carats, I / J colour, SI clarity.

Hallmarks too worn to be legible.  Tested as 18 carat yellow gold with the diamonds set into a silver top.
