Cultured pearl & old mine cut diamond pendant. Ten antique old mine cut diamonds are secured in claws around a large white cultured pearl. The diamonds in the halo are set at an angle, sloping down the mounting so that they can be seen more easily when the wearer is slightly to the side. The cultured pearl in the centre is large and bold, set above the diamonds. This piece is two-tone with the gemstones set in white claws and the base and bail rosy in colour. Circa late Victorian with modern conversion.
This piece was originally a brooch which has been converted, we've kept the original markings on the brooch when we used the pin competent to make the bail.
Pearl: cultured, half drilled and glued. Measures approx 6 mm
Diamonds: 10, old mine cut of approx 2.4 mm each to total 0.60 carats, H - J colour, SI1 - SI2 clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.
Stamped on bail, unknown to us. Professionally tested and assessed as 15 carat gold, which is rosy in colour.
Measures approx 11.35 mm / 0.45 inches tall not including bail by 11.35 cm / 0.45 inches wide.
Weighs 2 grams.
