Stunning antique seed pearl crescent moon and star pendant. This celestial themed sweetie is formed into a semi-circle lined with white pearls which are graduated in size. The interior edge of the moon is higher and the exterior edge a bit lower so that the seed pearls can be seen from the side. In the centre are three stars, each set with a small matching pearl. Circa late 19th century, 1880s, British in origin.
In very good condition. This came to us a brooch with the pin section replaced (badly) so we removed that and made a bail for a pendant.
Seed pearls: 26 which are soft white in colour, measuring approx 0.70 mm to 2.7 mm.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 15 carat gold, which is yellow in colour.
Measures approx 27.85 mm / 1.1 inches tall without bail by 25.8 mm / 1 inches wide as it hangs.
Weighs 3.8 grams.
