Antique 9 carat gold lion fob. What an adorable, and fierce, little guy! A lion statant (standing, all four paws on the ground) is nicely posed on a domed, engraved pedestal. The lion is nicely detailed with carved fur. Set into the base is an oval shape carnelian gemstone which is blank. Circa early to mid 20th century, around 1920 - 1940s, British in origin.
In very good condition. The metal fineness stamp and maker's mark are a bit rubbed which isn't uncommon for an item of this age. It's a tactile piece so it's easy to see how that happened!
Stamped 9c for 9 carat gold. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold throughout.
Measures approx 21 mm / 0.83 inches tall, base approx 18.1 mm / 0.72 inches by 14.7 mm / 0.58 inches.
Weighs 4.6 grams.
Listing is for fob only, other chains and pendants shown are available separately.
