Antique 9 carat gold chain extender. This Victorian era chain extender is made from a longer trombone link with smaller links on either side. One end terminated in a larger jump ring for connecting to another clasp and the other end has a non-swivelling dog clip.
Often times older watch chains, commonly worn as women's neck chains now, are just a bit too short. This allows for a pieces to be extended creating more options for the wearer! Circa late 19th to early 20th century, British in origin.

Stamped 9ct on the dog clip. The links are stamped stamped 9 . 375. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold throughout. The gold is between rose and yellow gold, closer to rose in colour but not as red as modern rose gold.
Measures approx 70 mm / 2.75 inches in wearable length. Long link is approx 19.65 mm long by 5.2 mm wide. Short links are approx 5.65 mm wide. Terminating jump ring has a internal diameter of approx 3.8 mm and the large dog clip, which does not swivel, is 21.7 mm long by 7.7 mm wide.
