Antique 9 carat gold chain extender. This Victorian era chain extender is made from a longer trombone link with smaller links on either side. One end terminated in a larger jump ring for connecting to another clasp and the other end has a non-swivelling dog clip.

Often times older watch chains, commonly worn as women's neck chains now, are just a bit too short. This allows for a pieces to be extended creating more options for the wearer! Circa late 19th to early 20th century, British in origin.

In excellent condition. Shown on model paired with a silver chain.

Stamped 9ct on the dog clip. The links are stamped stamped 9 . 375. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold throughout. The gold is between rose and yellow gold, closer to rose in colour but not as red as modern rose gold.

Measures approx 70 mm / 2.75 inches in wearable length. Long link is approx 19.65 mm long by 5.2 mm wide. Short links are approx 5.65 mm wide. Terminating jump ring has a internal diameter of approx 3.8 mm and the large dog clip, which does not swivel, is 21.7 mm long by 7.7 mm wide.

Weighs 5.25 grams.
