Incredible antique garnet fringe necklace crafted in 9 carat gold. This necklace is just so pretty! Seven sets of garnets drape across the front and when worn he end garnets sit on the collar bone making this the perfect necklace for evening wear and parties. The top garnets are round, connected to the chain on both sides near the top. A knife edge gold bar is articulated with the oval garnets set at the ends, giving the impression that they're floating. The colour of each garnet is an amazing shade of bright pinky-purple. Circa early 20th century.
Garnets: 14 total, brilliant pinkish purple in colour. 7 round garnets measure approx 4.9 mm each. 7 oval cut garnets measure approx 7.5 mm by 5 mm each.
Stamped 9c on the bolt clasp and tested as 9 carat gold throughout.
Measures 40.5 cm / 16 inches in length with garnets dropping 2.5 cm / 1 inch.
Weighs 4.8 grams.
