Antique Victorian DEAREST bracelet with a heart padlock. This bracelet is crafted in a warm rosey coloured 9 carat gold. The links are a graduated shape curb links but with the seven bezel gemstones, the start of the name of the each gemstone spelling out the word DEAREST. Both ends of this bracelet have a large jump ring style link which are attached to each other by safety chain. A large heart shaped padlock is threaded through the safety chain so it cannot be parted from the bracelet. When the clasp of the heart is released the hook can be looped through the end rings to secure this bracelet. We love the little metal fineness stamps on each link! Circa 1880s - 1900, British in origin.

D - diamond. Old mine cut, approx 3 mm and estimated in setting as 0.10 carats.
E - emerald. Approx 3.0 mm.
A - amethyst. Approx 3.1 mm.
R - ruby, pinkish in colour. Approx 3.2 mm.
E - emerald. Approx 3.1 mm.
S - sapphire. Approx 3.1 mm.
T - topaz, yellow in colour. Approx 2.9 mm

Links are approx 7.5 mm wide at centre ruby tapering to 5.3 mm at ends. and heart is approx 25.5 mm in length.

Stamped 9ct on the padlock clasp and 375 and 9 on each link. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold, the safety chain is gold fill.

Measures approx 16.5 cm / 6.5 inches wearable length and 7.5 mm wide.

Weighs 20.55 grams.
