Antique 9 carat gold chain extender. The Victorian chain is crafted from classic and timeless curb links which have their original Victorian gold stamps. At one end is a jump ring, and the other has a dog clip. A lot of antique chains, originally made for gentlemen's watches, are too short for how they are typically worn now, by women as neck chains. We've soldered the terminating jump ring closed so that it's ready to wear!
In excellent condition.
Stamped 9c on the dog clip which is very lightly faceted. Each link is clearly stamped 9 . 375. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold throughout. The gold is between rose and yellow gold, closer to rose in colour but not as red as modern rose gold.
Measures approx 75 mm / 2.95 inches in wearable length. Curb links are approx 5.25 mm wide. Terminating jump ring has a internal diameter of 4.5 mm and the large dog clip, which swivels, is 19.85 mm long by 7.5 mm wide.
Weighs 5.8 grams. This is a substantial, sturdy chain.
