Victorian bold buckle bangle bracelet crafted in sterling silver. This chunky, wide silver bracelet is designed in a classic buckle style. The top half of this bangle is engraved with an ivy leaf pattern. Ivy has long been symbolic of a fondness and attachment between the giver and receiver. The belt section has been excellently design with a careful ripple to mimic how an actual belt and buckle would sit. This section is adorned with beaded spheres around the edge and the tang and actual buckle are shiny and polished, a contrast to the ornately engraved ivy. Buckles too have symbolism, one of loyalty and the joining of two people. The symbolism makes this a meaningful and wonderful token of affection.

The back half of this bangle is wide and unadorned. This piece is very slightly oval in shape to assist in keeping the design on the top of the wrist. It snaps firmly with a very loud click.

This piece is in very good condition with some very minor signs, excellent for a 140 year old piece!

Hallmarked for sterling silver, assayed in Birmingham 1883.

Measures approx 16.7 cm / 6.6 inches internal circumference. 2.7 cm / 1 inches wide.

Weighs 34.7 grams.
