Beautiful antique 12 carat gold wedding ring. A sweet alternating pattern of wreath engraving, Maltese cross style design, ribbon pattern, Maltese cross, repeat. The sides are engraved with a coordinating design and slope down very slightly so that the sides just peak out when viewed face on. Circa late 19th century, likely British in origin.
In very good condition, with a noted and photographed disruption to the pattern.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 12 carat gold. 12 carat gold was a UK standard between 1854 and 1932. The gold is between yellow and rose in colour, though much closer to modern yellow gold than rose, it's a nice warm peachy colour.
Size: UK - J; US - 4.75; EU - 15,5. This ring has previously been resized and a 5 mm section of the engraving has been lost. We are happy to resize this ring, normal fees (in FAQs) apply. It could also be re-engraved, please contact for a quote. We haven't done it because we wanted to give a potential buyer a chance to have it altered to fit first.
Measures approx 2.4 mm wide by 1.35 mm deep.
Weighs 1.75 grams.
