Antique amethyst and cultured pearl drop earrings crafted in 18 carat rose gold. These earrings are something else! Set with stunning lighter purple graduated old cut amethysts and accented with claw set cultured pearls. The ear wires are articulated at their bases allowing the gemstones to swing a bit and catch the light. The effect is striking, lovely pale purple and creamy off white in warm rose gold. Circa late 19th century.

Amethyst: 4, old European cut. Bottom ones are approx 11.8 mm to 11.9 mm each to total 7.5 carats. Top ones are approx 9.4 mm to 9.5 mm to total 4.5 carats. The total across all four amethysts is approx 12 carats as calculated within the limits of the mounting.

Pearls: assumed cultured, 6 total, measuring approx 3.5 mm each, off white in colour.

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold, which is rosy in colour.
