Incredible pear drop amethyst and 14 karat gold earrings. Large bright lighter coloured amethyst are set in a narrow gold bezel. The colour of the amethyst is bright and the lighter colour allows light to pass through making them super sparkly! The edges are secured in a shiny yellow gold bezel edge which is slender, keeping the focus entirely on the amethysts. The hooks are gently curved and their shorter length means these lovely purple gemstones just hang off the earlobes. Date to the late 20th century.

Amethyst: pear shape measuring approx 18mm tall by 13 mm wide by 8.4 mm deep. Calculated as 10 carats each, within the limits of the mounting, for a total of 20 carats together.

Stamped as 14k and with a maker's mark. Professionally tested and assessed as 14 carat yellow gold throughout. The maker is unknown to us.

Measure approx 25.5 mm / 1 inch long by 14 mm / 0.55 inches wide.

Weigh 5.2 grams together, approx 2.6 gram each.
