Bold vintage amethyst single stone ring set in 9 carat yellow gold. The oval cut amethyst is set in four sets of double claw prongs. The amethyst is a wonderful and striking bright purple colour. Underneath the gemstone the basket is shaped as set of leaves. A slender pipe cut band pinches as it nears the large gemstone. Circa mid 20th century. Amethyst is the birthstone for February.

Amethyst: oval faceted, approx 16 mm by 12 mm in diameter, approx 6.5 carats as estimated within the limits of the mounting.

Marks faded and illegible, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat yellow gold. Appears to be London assay office and a K so possibly 1965.

Size: UK - R; US - 8.75; EU - 18,7. This ring can be sized between K / 5.25 / 15,8 and V / 10.5 / 20,2. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 16.1 mm wide by 7.6 mm deep at stone. 1.8 mm band.
