Antique amethyst fob dating to the late 19th century. A large oval cut amethyst is set in a heavy gold bezel. Lovely elongated gold ovals curve around behind the amethyst meeting at a loop for hanging this piece. The loop is large and a if worn as a pendant it would fit a descent width chain. Circa late 19th century, British in origin.

Amethyst: very bright, royal purple in colour, approx 19 mm by 15 mm.

Stamped 9c on the side, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold, which is rosy in colour.

Measures approx 3.15 cm / 1.25 inches tall by 2.1 cm / 0.83 inches by 1.7 cm / 0.66 inches across the base.

Weighs 9.7 grams.
