Amethyst pear shape drop earrings. These antique purple gemstone dangles are set in closed, foil backed settings. The drops are original Georgian to early Victorian and have been converted into earrings by the addition of a 9 carat yellow gold ear wire. The amethysts are a bright, rich royal purple colour.
Amethyst: pear shape, approx 12.7 mm / 0.50 inches long by 8 mm / 0.31 inches wide.
Not hallmarked. Ear wires are professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat yellow gold. The rest of the setting is metal, pinchbeck, and is not gold.
Measure approx 27 mm / 1 inch long by 8.4 mm / 0.33 inches wide.
Weigh 2.86 grams total.
