Vintage sunny yellow oval cut citrine ring. Bring a bit of sunshine to your finger! This large and bold gemstone is oval in shape and is secured in a the finest double claw prongs. The basket collet displays a lattice of wire work on a narrow gold shank with sloping shoulders. This is definitely a statement piece and would make an excellent cocktail or dress ring. The oval shape is flattering on the finger, making the finger seem longer and thinner - a great shape! Circa mid 20th century, 1960s, British in origin.
Citrine: bright golden yellow in colour, measures 16.1 mm by 12 mm and is estimated in setting as 6.6 carats.
Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in London, date letter for 1967.
