Lovely 1940s vintage diamond engagement ring. This ring is exquisitely crafted! A single diamond is bead set in an intricate palladium top. All around the diamond is a wonderful faceted beaded pattern and milgrain beading criss crossing to create geometric patterns.

Wartime Britain was not a wealthy place. Nine carat yellow gold and a single diamond in a beautiful setting allowed this engagement ring to do it's job of being a sparkly love token while being affordable. It's a romantic piece and perfectly in keeping with the times during which Britain was making do and keeping calm. This ring, with the top made of palladium rather than platinum as use of platinum was saved for military operations, and carved into sparkling beads of palladium, would have allowed the woman who wore it to have such a wonderful and sentimental token. The white metal top is palladium and the band is 9 carat yellow gold. The band is nice and thick in back and tapers to a narrow point at the top. Circa 1940s, British in origin.

Diamond: single cut, approx 0.03 carats.

Marked 9ct Pall. This ring is mostly 9 carat yellow gold with the engraved top in palladium.
