Sparkling vintage diamond engagement ring dating to the mid 20th century. This ring holds a lovely single round brilliant cut diamond. The collet underneath the diamond is flared and a bit larger than the diamond, serving to both protect it and make it look a bit larger. This style came into fashion during the mid 1930s through the 1950s as diamond solitaires became the preferred fashion for engagement rings. Flanking the diamond are engraved elongated boxes lined in milgrain beading. These polished shoulders catch the light for a wonderful and unique look. Circa mid 1930s - 1950s, British in origin.

Diamond: round brilliant cut, measures approx 4.15 mm, 0.30 carats, G colour, VS clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.

Stamped PLAT 18ct. Professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold with the diamond set into a platinum top.
