Antique sterling silver trombone link chain. Elongated oval links measuring around 14.8 mm long alternate with a series of much shorter oval links. At 39.5 cm long this is a choker length necklace or could be worn as a double bracelet. One end of this chain terminates at a non-swivelling dog clip and the other as a large jump ring. The dog clip can be slotted into any of the links so this chain can be worn in a lariat style. Circa late Victorian, 1880s.

In excellent condition. Every link is deeply stamped with the lion for sterling silver.

Lion hallmark for sterling silver on the links. The dog clip has the date letter for 1888. Professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver throughout.

Measures approx 39.5 cm / 15.5 inches in wearable length. Long links are 14.8 mm / 0.50 inch long by 4.8 mm / 0.20 inches tall.
