RESERVED.
Antique diamond trilogy engagement ring. This lovely ring is set with three old mine diamonds across the top. The centre diamond is cushion in shape, narrower and very slightly wider than the flaking diamonds. The diamonds are all set in a simple crown shape rex style setting. The claws are platinum and the shoulders are topped in platinum giving the impression that this entire ring is platinum.
The diamonds are all antique cut, circa 1840s to 1900s. This style of diamond were hand cut for the different type of light available during that time period. They feature a very small table, top of the diamond, with incredibly steep crowns, and a slightly irregular, more cushion shaped outline. Old mine cut diamonds were cut before electricity was used in households and sparkle beautifully, especially in the lower, candle light they were originally cut over 100 years ago. Dates to around the late Victorian era.
