Victorian five stone old mine cut diamond ring dating to the dating to the late 19th century. Five old mine cut diamonds are graduated in size, curving gently around the top of the finger. Each diamond is set in a bezel or rub over setting which is topped in platinum and lined in milgrain beading. The old cut diamonds are slightly irregular in shape and show off the classic small table, steep crown and very large open culet that hand cut diamonds from this time period feature.

The band is a bright 18 carat yellow gold which pinches in nearer to the diamonds. Underneath the diamonds is a pierced scrolling style design. This ring dates to the late Victorian era, circa 1870s - 1900, and is British in origin.

Diamonds: 5, old mine cut. Centre measures approx 3.4 - 3.6 and is calculated in setting as 0.18. Sides are 2.6 mm and estimated at 0.10 carats and 2.4 mm and estimated as 0.06 carats. Total carat weight, calculated as setting permits is 0.50 carats, all K colour, VS1 - SI1 clarity. One of the very end diamonds appears darker than the others because it isn't cut as well so isn't reflecting as much light back. We've chosen not to replace this stone as it's slightly off round shape is a perfect match to the setting and we believe it to be the original diamond for this mount.

Marked as 18ct & Pt. This ring is mostly 18 carat yellow gold with the very top edges of the bezel setting in platinum.

Size: UK - M; US - 6 1/4; EU - 16.7. This ring can be sized down to K.5 / 5.5 or made several sizes larger. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures 4 mm wide on the finger and diamonds span 15.5 mm across the finger. Rises 4.02 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 2.4 grams.
