Victorian long gold guard chain. This long chain is about half the length of a full guard chain. The simple belcher link chain is secured on both ends to a dog clip which allows an ornament, such as a pocket watch, to easily be worn on it. This chain is a rosy yellow gold in colour, typical of Victorian gold. Circa late 1800s, likely British in origin.

Not hallmarked, tested as 9 carat gold throughout.

Measures approx 80 cm / 31.5 inches long, and is approx 3.3 mm wide
