Vintage silver set paste drop earrings. These dangle earrings are designed in a fluted shape buttercup shape. Set to the centre is a large paste, which is clear glass, stone. The paste is claw set in six claws, and is very chunky, with a lovely high crown. The cut of the paste makes them glitter like little disco balls. Kidney shaped ear wires loop from the top of the fluted setting. These hooks are shaped so that a little hinged triangle slips over the bottom of them so that are more secure when they're being worn. Circa mid 20th century.
Paste: approx 5.9 mm each, roughly the size of a 0.80 carat diamond.
Russian hallmarks with a hammer and sickle and stamped 875 for the silver content. Professionally tested and assessed as silver. The date and assay office are stamped in what appears to be the Cyrillic script and aren't legible to me.
Measures approx 1.93 cm / 0.77 inches in length by 0.96 cm / 0.38 inches wide at floral setting.
Weigh 2.3 grams together.
