Sapphire and diamond horseshoe necklace. This pretty necklace came to us as a Victorian stick pin and we've converted into a necklace. Seven bright gemstones, 4 sapphires and 3 old mine cut diamonds, are bead set into the horseshoe. We've added a good weight trace style chain in 9 carat yellow gold to make this a lovely, wearable, everyday piece. Circa 19th century horseshoe with modern conversion.

Diamonds: 3, old mine cut totalling approx 0.05 carats.

Sapphires: 4, deep blue totalling approx 0.10 carats.

Not hallmarked, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold. The chain is stamped 375 for 9 carat gold. As is typical with antique Victorian pieces, the horseshoe does have a slightly rosy colour. When choosing a chain, it's closer to yellow gold than rose gold in colour so we went for a 9 carat yellow gold chain!

Horseshoe measures approx 1.57 cm / 0.62 inches tall and the total wearable length is 45 cm / 18 inches.
