Antique 18 carat yellow gold keeper ring dating to the late Victorian era. Bands of gold are plaited or braided together across the top of the finger. Where each section crosses is a small little gold ball with the section where they cross accented with little gold balls. There are six little gold balls. Circa 1890s, British in origin.

There are a lot of stories about the meaning and history of keeper rings. One being that they were given as a symbol and promise of a marriage to come, much like a modern engagement ring.

Fully hallmarked for 18 carat gold, assayed in Chester., date letter M for 1895.

Size: UK - P 1/2; US - 8; EU - 18.2. Sizes taken from the leading edge. This ring can be sized between N / 6.75 and S / 9.25. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 7.08 mm wide at the front, tapering to 5 mm at back centre and rises 2.35 mm tall off the finger.
