Vintage rose cut single stone diamond ring in 9 carat yellow gold. A single rose cut diamond is rub over / bezel set in a simple yellow gold setting. The diamond is set low to the finger on a simple gold band. The diamond is an antique diamond, circa 1800s, and the setting more modern, thought to date to the early 20th century. This ring has been more recently hallmarked and contains a set of modern hallmarks.

Rose cut diamonds are an older cutting style with flat bottoms and all the facets on top. The large flat facets on the top create a domed shape, coming to a point at the very top. This cutting style was used during the 1500s through the 1800s.

Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham.
