Old European cut diamond stud earrings set in a crown style collet. The old cut diamonds are classically cut with smaller tables and an open culet, such a beautiful style! The diamonds are set into eight tiny claws in their original collets. These earrings would have started life as another item of jewellery, perhaps side stones on a ring, and a previous owner has preserved their mounting, adding posts and scroll backs. The diamonds are circa early 20th century, date of conversion unknown.

Diamonds: old European cut, measure approx 3.9 mm average diameter and calculated in setting as 0.45 carats, H / I colour, VS2 / SI1 clarity.

Unmarked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold with platinum claws.

Measure approx 4.3 mm wide and rise 4.5 mm tall off the ear.
