Chunky antique sterling silver curb chain. This early 20th century chain would have originally been made for and worn with a gentleman's pocket watch. We think it's a wonderful additional to an jewellery lover's wardrobe - a chunky chain is always in fashion! It's crafted in a wave design with the widest links in the centre and tapering down to narrower links towards each end. This chain could easily be paired with another chain to make a lovely, longer neck chain, or it could be rearranged to form a bracelet and a couple of chain rings, or keep it exactly as it is and rock it with a pocket watch or fobs on your waistcoat! Each piece is stamped for silver. One end of this chain terminates in a large dog clip and the other in a t-bar. Circa 1910s, British in origin.
Hallmarked on the t-bar and dog clip, Sterling Silver, assayed in Birmingham, date letter for 1913. Each link is stamped with the lion for sterling.
Measures approx 26.5 cm / 10.5 inches wearable length. Curb links are between 5.3 mm and 7.8 mm wide.
Weighs 35 grams.
