Purple synthetic sapphire single stone ring set in 9 carat yellow gold. The colour of this stone is absolutely out of this world! The purple is brilliant and vivid, cut in a classic oval shape. The setting style is 1960s does Victorian with multiple small claws holding the stone in place. It's mounted on a slender band which really allows the stone to pop. At first glance this stone would be assumed to be an amethyst, however it's a lab created purple sapphire. Circa 1960s, British in origin.

Sapphire: synthetic / lab created, oval cut measuring approx 16.1 mm by 11.8 mm and calculated as approx 11 carats within the limits of the mounting. The sapphire is in incredible condition and we can find no signs of facet wear or abrasion.

Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham 1968.
