A beautiful and unique vintage diamond engagement ring! The centre old mine cut is set in square shape corner claws. The old mine cut diamond is warm in colour appearing a warm ivory in some lights and pale yellow in others. It's a real chameleon, picking up on the colours around it. This diamond has a very steep crown, a super tiny table, and a wonderful large culet which reflects around the diamond making a kobize effect. The setting has a twist style design with a row of three diamonds crossing over two diamonds for a total of five accent diamond on each side. The shoulders narrow at a triangle design with a faint wheat style design decorating the edges around the entire circumference of this ring. Circa 1920s.
Diamonds: centre old mine cut, measures approx 5.7 mm and is calculated in setting as 0.82 carats, S / T colour, SI1 clarity. 10 single / eight cut accent diamonds, approx 0.16 carats together, I to K colour, SI1 - I1 clarity.
Hallmarked 10% Irid Plat. This ring is the common alloy of 90% Platinum and 10% Iridium, an alloy still in use today.
