Beautiful three stone diamond engagement ring dating to the mid 20th century. Set in triple claw prongs is a gorgeous old European cut. The diamond has great, even faceting making it quite the sparkler. Flanking the centre diamond are two 2.6 mm diamonds, each set into a buttercup style design. The contrast between the claws for the centre diamond and side diamonds is unique, a great take on a classic three stone design. The centre diamond, being an older cut, is likely pre mid 1930s while palladium wasn't commonly used in jewellery until platinum needed for the war effort in the 1940s. It's likely someone used a family or inherited stone about a generation later to set it into their own design. We love reuse of family stones!
