Vintage opal triplet ring bezel set in 9 carat yellow gold. The triplet is absolutely lovely with great play of colour! It's body tone is blue and orange, green and blue play of colour. The opal triplet is set in a slender bezel with solid, shiny sides. Asymmetrical ribbons of gold curve and swirl around the bezel, framing it in a very playful way that draws the eye in. The band is pipe cut, flat and squared in profile. Circa mid 20th century.
Opal triplet: a triplet is a slice of opal between a clear glass top to allow the opal to shine and a solid back. Measures approx 15.5 mm by 10 mm. The back piece has a hairline crack across it which looks to also be through the opal (we can't feel the opal to tell for certain). The top glass part across the opal triplet does not and is in very good condition. The opal shows some crazing. This piece is in wearable condition with nice, attractive play of colour.
Stamped 9ct, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold which is yellow in tone.
Size: UK - Q.5; US - 8.5; EU - 18,5. This ring can be sized between M.5 / 6.5 / 16,9 and U / 10 / 19,7. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures approx 19.5 mm wide by 6 mm deep. 2.2 mm band.
