Opal doublet & diamond 18ct pendant drop necklace. What a striking piece! A vivid rainbow coloured opal doublet with excellent play of colour is bezel set in 18 carat white gold at the end of a row of diamonds. The opal doublet displays an incredible hot pink, periwinkle blue, bright orange, and flashes of green. I love opal for it's ever changing look giving it such personality as the lighting around it changes.
The bar at the top of the opal is set with four diamonds, equally spaced and slightly wider than the bar creating little pops of sparkle. The chain is threaded through the top of the the bar which runs smoothly along the chain, although the pendant cannot be removed from the chain. The 18ct white gold chain is a diamond cut trace link with small faceted links that glitter as it catches the light. Circa early 21st century, British in origin.
In very good condition with only the most minor signs of wear and use.
Opal: doublet, measuring approx 11 mm by 7.5 mm. It has incredible play of colour!
Diamonds: 4, round brilliant cut measuring approx 1.6 mm to 1.7 mm and calculated as 0.08 carats together, within the limits of the mounting.
Hallmarked for 18 carat gold, assayed in London 2004.
Measures approx 40 cm / 16 inches in wearable length. Drop is approx 3.5 cm / 1.5 inches in length by 8 mm wide. The pendant cannot be removed from the chain as it currently stands and would have to be altered to change out the chain.
Weighs 2.5 grams.
