Mother of Pearl Button Earrings, 9ct Gold Front Drop Earrings, Antique Conversion.

Pretty button drop earrings made from converted mother of pearl dress studs. Shiny grey-black mother of pearl has some blues and greens and the concave shape catches the light making these colours luminous. In the centre are textured gold toned wires forming a cross as though they are sewn like buttons. A beaded edge bezel holds the mother of pearl in place. These are easy to dress up or down, the black and gold combination is a classic making them easy to wear.
In very good condition. Since dress studs aren't worn that much any more we've taken these gold edged ones and converted them to drop earrings. We've added wires which can be latched into the original loop from the dress studs to help keep them safe! Circa Edwardian era, modern conversion.
Not marked. These are converted from men's dress shirt studs which have a 9 carat gold front edge and we've added 9 carat gold wires. The backs, sides, latch and centre wires of the button are not gold but are gold coloured metal.
